The Sharon Cooperative School

The Sharon Cooperative School was founded in 1976 as a place where parents could create a nurturing community of mutual learning, not only for their preschool children but for themselves as well. This community of shared vision was bound together by the children and a common bond among its families that transcends preschool and follows families throughout the course of their lives. The school welcomes about 70 children aged 2 years 9 months to kindergarten per year from Sharon, Canton, Mansfield, Stoughton, Walpole, and Foxboro among other towns. In 2004 and 2009, the Sharon Cooperative School earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the nation's leading organization of early childhood professionals. By earning accreditation, the Sharon Cooperative School has become a leader in a national effort to raise the quality of early childhood education, and to help give all children a better start.
