I started my business because I finally got tired of handing customers invoices that I knew were three and four times more than it should be. The owners of these large companies, don’t come into contact with their customer so they honestly don’t care! I’m keeping my company small enough so I don’t lose touch with my customer, but large enough that we can provide prompt and quality service. I have 3 technicians and 2 install crews and I think that’s the perfect size for the company I want to be. Every business owner wants to make money, but I can make a very good living charging fair rates while still paying my guys an above average salary. Keeping my team happy is another thing that sets us apart from the others. I don’t pay them commission which promotes upselling and dishonesty. My guys get a great salary, and aren’t expected to work more than 40 hours. Our work is by the book and we go above and beyond to make our installations neat and professional! We never do anything without giving you a price first and explaining to you exactly what you need. If something unexpected comes up during a repair or installation I never charge the customer more money, I feel that’s our mistake for not seeing it to begin with and we honor our original price(it never changes).
