Guilford Mortgage Services, LLC was formed in 1991 as a second mortgage and commercial lending broker servicing the Greater New Haven area of Connecticut. The company acquired its first mortgage lending license in 1994 and changed its company formation to an LLC that year. The company has been owned and operated by Joseph Castelli since that time. Joseph is a veteran of the mortgage business for over 30 years and worked with local lenders since the mid - 1980's. In 1999, Guilford Mortgage Services, LLC became an FHA Approved Lender with the acquisition of a FHA Mini-Eagle in June 1999. That same year we became a VA approved correspondent as well. Guilford Mortgage became an authorized lender for the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority first time homebuyers program in Connecticut in 2000. In 2010 we expanded our portfolio by adding USDA loans which require no down payment. Guilford Mortgage also offers Portfolio loans for borrowers that do not meet Government or Conventional guidelines. The company continues to prosper relying on past customers, and referral sources as a source of business. We have served more than 7,000 customers in the history of the company by providing excellent service and employing the highest level of integrity as main ingredient in our business dealings. In 2018, we continue to market ourselves as an experienced government and conventional mortgage lender to the communities and customers we serve.
