Elwood Fire Equipment Company, Inc. is a small family-owned business located in Elwood, IN. Elwood Fire Equipment Company originated in 1956 by Edgar Phillips and later sold to Dave Duckworth in 1976. Richard and Kimberly Flanagan were the third owners of Elwood Fire Equipment Company, Inc. purchasing the business in 1981, which was started on the foundation of Fire Extinguisher Service and Maintenance. After several years in the fire extinguisher industry, they expanded the business to include Hood Suppression Installation and Inspection. In 1991, the Fire Suppression Hood Cleaning was also added. In 2004, after their three children had completed their college degrees, the Flanagan boys joined their parents as co-owners of Elwood Fire Equipment Company, Inc. The eldest twin boys, Kreg and Kirk, bring back to the business Manufacturing Engineering Degrees, while their younger brother Kabe contributes to the business a Business Management Degree. After joining forces with their parents, the Flanagan family began shaping the business in order to offer their customers all their fire protection needs from one family owned business. At this point, Elwood Fire Equipment Company, Inc. added Fire Alarms, Sprinkler Systems, Exit/Emergency Lights, Fire Hydrants, Backflow Prevention, etc to their list of services. In 2015, Elwood Fire Equipment Company moved to a larger location and opened up a High-Pressure Testing Facility.
