Our bottom line is that it works monetarily to be committed to something other than a bottom line. It is among my greatest desires to exemplify the success a small business can have by helping to fund public education, which is sadly underfunded in this country. Hello! I started Beethoven's Gutter Works and Roofing as a way to support music in public schools, and still have an occupation working with my hands, which I have always enjoyed. To date, we have written hundreds of small checks that our clients send in to the Berkeley Public School Fund, who in turn writes grants directly to teachers.
