Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility

Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility is the largest water and wastewater utility in Alaska. Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility collects the majority of water from Eklutna glacier and lake as well as deep underground wells. Utility serve 54,000 customers and account for over 215,000 residents. The Utility operates two water treatment plants, three wastewater treatment plants, 22 reservoirs and over 1,600 miles of water and sewer mains. 280 employees work for the Utility, including treatment plant operators, engineers, laboratory technicians, maintenance craftsmen, accountants, customer service representatives and computer specialists. Utility has received several national outstanding awards for quality operations.
